Friction element fitted with an anti-rattle spring, the former (22, 24) comprising a lining-carrier plate (38) for co-operating in anchoring and sliding arrangement with guiding surfaces (32, 24) formed in a disk brake torque support member (10) by means of notches (42, 44) in the lateral edges of the lining-carrier plate (38), the disk brake comprising actuating means (26, 28) capable of urging the friction element (22, 24) against a rotating disk (18), the lining-carrier plate (38) including on an outer lateral edge (50), in the region of at least one of the notches (42, 44), an opening for mounting (46) the anti-rattle spring (48) which co-operates with the lining-carrier plate (38) and the torque support member (10) in a radial direction. According to the invention, a resilient member (62) co-operates with the lining-carrier plate (38) and the torque support member (10) to urge, in an axial direction, the lining-carrier plate (38) away from the rotating disk (18). |
