摘要 PURPOSE:To polish evenly both front and rear sides of a workpiece, further uniformly over the whole surfaces of both sides by disposing two polishing surface plates with the rotary centers being deviated from each other, putting the workpiece between the surface plates and rotating these three members in the same direction with the same rotational speed. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 4 is rotated by the friction torque of a rotating surface plate 1. If uniform working pressure acts on the whole surface and the frictional force is uniform, the workpiece 4 is driven by the frictional force to be rotated in the same direction and with the same speed as the surface plate 1. Also, a surface plate 2 is rotated with the rotation of the workpiece 4 in the same direction and with the same speed as the surface plate 1. The surface plate 1 and workpiece 4 have the same size and direction relative speed over the whole surfaces (the size is the product of a distance between the rotary center 101 of the surface plate 1 and the rotary center 401 of the workpiece and the rotational angular velocity of the surface plate, and the direction is perpendicular to a straight line interconnecting the rotary center 101 and rotary center 401). The relative speed between the workpiece 4 and surface plate 2 is as same as said speed and opposite to that in the direction, so that the workpiece 4 is polished uniformly over both whole surfaces.
