To seal and close the salt container for a latent heat storage unit, such as a vehicle where it is a thin-walled tube pressed flat of a metal material such as copper with high thermal conductivity, a solder is applied to a bonding surface before assembly. When the unit is finally shaped, with the bonding surfaces together, heat is applied to the soldering point. The solder layer thickness is kept to a min., and the heating time is reduced to a min. according to the heat requirement of the solder.
