Brush applicator esp. for medical use

The applicator has a hollow head (11) which detachably holds on one end a hollow brush holder (24) by a hollow stem (12) which fits in a recess (27) on the brush holder. The stem contains a valve (13) with e.g. a ball (14) which is depressed against spring pressure when the brush holder is fitted. This opens the valve, allowing fluid to pass to the brush (26). A cartridge (19) containing the fluid to be applied is e.g. screwed onto the other end (16) of the head. Fluid is dispensed by lightly squeezing the elastic body of the cartridge. Foamed material can be used instead of the brush. The head, brush holder and cartridge can be in one piece with a through passage.
