PURPOSE:To provide the method and device for image processing with which low-resolution image information can be converted to high-resolution image information without degrading the contour or the picture quality. CONSTITUTION:Low-resolution image information 101 is divided into R, G and B planes 103-105 by an image dividing part 102, contour information 107 is prepared by a contour extracting part 106 while referring to the respective planes, the resolution converting processing of the respective R, G and B planes is executed by a pattern matching method at a pattern matching processing part 108 while referring to the contour information 107, on the other hand, a picture element not judged as a contour part is interpolated by an interpolation processing part 109, respective high-resolution R, G and B planes 110-112 prepared by the pattern matching processing part 108 and the interpolation processing part 109 are coupled by an image coupling part 113, and high- resolution image information 114 is prepared. |
