Slide for a vehicle roof section

The sliding mechanism for a sliding and/or lifting roof section, of a vehicle, has a slide (1) wholly of plastic with embedded metallic or non-metal reinforcements and/or longitudinal carrier stiffeners (2) wholly shrouded by the plastic material. The guide curve structure (3) is a guide passage and/or a guide groove inaccessible on one and/or both sides to be engaged by a bolt or carrier shoulder of the operating mechanism. The reinforcement is of steel, magnesium or zinc, or a cast aluminium or similar alloy with shaped ribs, or it is an injection moulded plastics component with or without ribs, or it can be composed of glass or carbon fibres. The plastic material is of polyoxymethylene, polyformaldehyde, polyacetal, polyamide PA, PA 6, PA 66, polypropylene, PETP, PBTP, polycarbonate, etc.
