The cleaning machine has at least three rotary driven disc brushes (16,18,23,25) of which two are locally fixed and at least one is variable in position. Each of the two locally fixed brushes (16,25) is mounted in an associated brush support (2,3) attached to the frame or each other brush support to swivel about a horizontal axis (6) running in the travel direction. The variable brush (18,23) is attached directly or indirectly to one of the brush supports. The two brush supports can be pretensioned in an outwardly inclined position by at least one spring element (28).
