DIRECT ACCESS STORAGE DEVICE HAVING COMPOSITE ACTUATOR BEARING SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To decide an accurate position when a bearing system is used in a servo loop by adding the 1st and 2nd bearings having low and high friction factors respectively to the bearing system. CONSTITUTION: In a bearing system, a ring 30 functions as an outer bearing housing which contains two ball bearing assemblies, the inner bearings 33A and 33B which are attached to a shaft 19 and the outer bearings 35A and 35B which are attached to the ring 30 respectively to attain the rotations around the shaft 19. At the same time, the ring 30 functions as an inner ring of a flexible bearing which includes an outer bearing 34 and plural flexible members 36A and 36B while functioning as an outer bearing of the ball bearing assemblies. It's important to produce the members 36A and 36B, so that they can bend in only the circumferential direction.
