<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a bad separation trouble by getting an excitation system back to a state before start-up based on the result of a first judging means which judges whether the start-up of the excitation system is good or bad based on a voltage value measured within a specified period of time and a second judging means which judges whether the start-up of the excitation system is good or bad by detecting if the excitation system is separated or not. CONSTITUTION:An excitation controller 7 detects an amount or excitation based on the voltage which has been taken in. When the amount of excitation exceeds what can be circulated in a path in a normal generation state, the excitation controller 7 notices it to a plant. When the excitation controller 7 receives a separation command from the plant, it turns off a gate of a thyristor switch 5 and opens a magnetic core 6a of an initial excitation contact (FC) 6 and the magnetic core 6a is separated from an excitation main circuit which is the path in a normal generation state. If it is found by a detection signal of a sensor 6b that the magnetic core 6a of the FC6 does not open within a specified period of time even though the FC6 has been so controlled as to be separated, the excitation controller 7 determines that the excitation system failed to start up and opens a field breaker 3, getting the excitation system back to a state before start-up.</p> |
