The projectile holds at least two reagents, in respective containers, which when mixed create smoke. A device is provided which controls the distribution of the reagents. The destruction of the effective reagent containers (14, 16) and the distribution of the reagents (18, 20) occurs through the initiation of a decomposition charge (12) arranged within the projectile. The one reagent container (14) contains an acid (18) and the other (16) a basic effective component (20). The acid component is located in a glass ampoule (22) in the one container and is enclosed in a tissue hose (24), being arranged in a glass (26) with a screw cap (28), which is enclosed by a foam material bed (30). The decomposition charge (12) is arranged in the flight direction in front of the containers. The igniter (10) is arranged in the flight direction in front of the decomposition charge (12).
