Plug-in electrodes are rigidly connected with the housing (1) of the electronic plant monitor. The electrodes (2) extend in parallel from a narrow side of the housing (1). The plant monitor has a trigger circuit (fig.3) with two complementary transistors (VT1;VT2). The moisture measuring section (input) and the adjustment regulator (P1) are connected in series in the control circuit of the first transistor (VT1). The signal transmitter or transmitters (output) are connected between the emitters of the two transistors.
