PURPOSE:To obtain a high-strength and lightweight ceramic and a molded article by mixing ceramic fine powder with fine powder of blast furnace slag, etc., an inorganic foam and a fiber material, then adding sodium silicate, zinc oxide sodium aluminate, embedding a metal material in the blend, impregnating the molded article with a silica sol and mineral fine powder, molding and heating. CONSTITUTION:20-40 pts.wt. of ceramic fine powder is mixed with 5-10 pts.wt. of fine powder of blast furnace slag or silica fume, 50-80 pts.wt. of an inorganic foam and 1-5 pts.wt. of a fiber material. 100 pts.wt. of the prepared mixture is mixed with 15-30 pts.wt. of a suspended water-soluble binder composed of 800-1,200 pts.wt. of sodium silicate, 10-40 pts.wt. of zinc oxide and 30-40 pts.wt. of sodium aluminate. The mixture is molded, a metal member is embedded in the mixture and the mixture is press molded under low pressure of 5-15 kgf/cm<2> into a laminar state. The dried molded article is impregnated with a mixed solution comprising 100 pts.wt. of a silica sol and 0.5-5 pts.wt. of mineral fine powder, dried and then heated a 250-600 deg.C. |
