PURPOSE:To prevent generation of image distortion or defocusing even with eventual change of the temp. of coupler material. CONSTITUTION:This ultrasonic diagnostic system is equipped with an ultrasonic probe 10 having a transducer which transmits and receives ultrasonic signals to/from a vital organism to be inspected and a coupler 11 for stand-off filled with an object for transporting ultrasonic signals and inserted between the probe 10 and the organism to be inspected. The arrangement further includes a sensing means (temp. sensor 12) to sense either the temp. information about the filling object 11b of the coupler 11 or the speed information of the ultrasonic wave signal and a control means (probe identifier 27 and timing correction circuit 26) which controls the parameter capable of correcting the temp. dependency when the signal is transmitted through the filling object on the basis of the measuring information given by the sensing means. |
