<p>PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for executing the polarization independent four photon mixture of a optical signal. CONSTITUTION: A polarization independent optical mixer 40 receives one input optical signal and two substantially rectangular polarized pump signals. Those input optical signal and two substantially rectangular polarized pump signals are connected in a beam connector 43, and then four photon-mixed in a first non-linear mixing device 46 for generating plural mixed generated signals. Those two substantially rectangular polarized pump signals are generated in a rectangular pump signal generator, and this includes a second non-linear mixing device for four photon-mixing a first pump signal with the mixed signal for generating a second pump signal being the phase conjugates of the first pump signal. The several mixed generated signals indicate the phase conjugates of the input optical signal, and therefore they are valid for compensating color distortion in an optical fiber.</p> |
