PURPOSE:To markedly improve fuel consumption by using a gasoline engine with supercharger and an automatic transmission, achieving the lower fuel consumption in a low fuel consumption region in a high load side at a low speed, and also using this operating region more. CONSTITUTION:A supercharger 15 is provided in an engine, to set air-fuel ratio, in a low speed region in at least an engine supercharge region, to a value larger than theoretical air-fuel ratio, and to reduce net fuel consumption in this region, also to use an automatic transmission as a speed changer 25, and by setting a characteristic of this automatic transmission so that steady running on a flat road can be performed in a low speed region in the supercharge region, this region is more used. |
