PURPOSE: To prepare a cosmetic or a dermatological composition in the form of a stable oil-in-water type (O/W) emulsion. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (a) 15-50 wt.% at least one vegetable oil containing at least 40% linoleic acid triglyceride, (b) 2-7 wt.% self- emulsifiable composition composed of 60-90 wt.% at least one fatty alcohol having 12-22 carbon atoms, 10-40 wt.% at least one alkyl polysaccharide containing an alkyl chain having 12-22 carbon atoms and 0-5 wt.% polysaccharide, (c) 0. 5-5 wt.% coemulsifying agent selected from at least one saturated fatty alcohol having 16-32 carbon atoms, a saturated fatty acid having 16-32 carbon atoms and a mixture thereof and (d) 0.1-1 wt.% gelling agent and the balance substantially composed of an aqueous phase. The composition can be provided in the form of a cream, a milky lotion or a mask or the form of a foundation cream.
