<p>PURPOSE:To provide a golf club head capable of extending a flying distance by providing one side of a face with a head body obliquely provided with a neck, forming the bottom end of this neck to a diameter smaller than the diameter at the center of the neck, and forming the sectional shape at the lower end of the neck to a nearly elliptic shape. CONSTITUTION:The heel 4 which is one side of the face 3 formed with groove lines 2 of the head body 1 is obliquely provided with the neck 5 having an adequate lie angle and the bottom end 5A of the neck 5 which is the heel 4 side of the neck 4 is formed to the diameter A finer than the diameter B of the central part 5B of the neck 5. The shaft 6 of the neck 5 is connected thereto. The sectional shape of the bottom end 5A of the neck 5 is formed to nearly the elliptic shape and its major axis direction thereof is made nearly along the face 3. Since the bottom end 5A of the neck 5 is formed to the diameter smaller than the diameter of the central part 5B, the impact force when the face 3 hits the ball concentrates to the bottom end 5A and a strain is generated. The golf ball is struck by the restitutive force, that is, elasticity of the bottom end 5A, by which the flying distance is extended.</p> |
