Gear shift synchronisation with gearshift sleeve

A gear-shift sleeve (1) is held in a neutral and shifting position by way of thrust members comprising spring-loaded balls (7) which engage in a retaining manner on the inner peripheral face in first recesses (2) in the gear-shift sleeve (1). When an overthrust force is produced on the sleeve (1) an axial thrust is exerted on a locking block (8) guiding the ball (7) and on a synchronizing ring. A second recess (3) immediately adjacent to the first recess (2) is provided in the inner peripheral face of the sleeve (1) in order to achieve increasing peaks in the overthrust force of the gear-shift sleeve with the intermediate unlocking of the synchronization. First and second overpass edges (4, 5) are provided between the two recesses (2, 3) and the inner peripheral face (6) of the gear-shift sleeve (1), respectively. <IMAGE>
