The invention includes printing ink compositions containing an organic solution of a film-forming polymer and a dye salt of formula <IMAGE> (I) wherein R is a group of formula <IMAGE> <IMAGE> wherein R1 is C1-4alkyl, R2 and R3 are each independently of the other hydrogen, CH2X, SO2Y or NHCOZ, R4 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl and R5 is CH2X, SO2Y or NHCOZ, X is a NHCOR6 or NR7SO2R6 group, Y is NR8R9 or N(R8)2, and Z is C1-C4alkyl or NHR9, R6 is C1-C4alkyl, unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by C1-C4alkyl or halogen, R7 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl and R8 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl or a <IMAGE> group, and R9 is hydrogen C1-C4alkyl or phenyl, and R', R'' and R''' are alkyl radicals containing together 10 to 24 carbon atoms, or a mixture of such dye salts. These dye salts are suitable for colouring organic solutions of polymers and are distinguished by their good solubility in organic solvents as well as by their purity, high saturation, adhesion, storage stability, and fastness to light and weathering.
