<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a method for detecting an electric field which makes it possible to detect the electric field generated by a high-voltage device in noncontact with the high-voltage device and which is improved in safety and facilitates laying. CONSTITUTION:By using a device having an optical probe 2 having a construction wherein the strength of a light wave being transmitted changes dependently on the strength of an impressed electric field, an optical fiber 7 leading a light beam from a semiconductor laser 1 and making it incident on the optical probe 2, an optical fiber 7' leading the light transmitted through the optical probe 2 and making it incident on a photoelectric converter 8, and a measuring unit 9 measuring and displaying an electric signal from the photoelectric converter 8, and by providing the optical probe 2 in noncontact with a high-voltage device, the electric field generated by the high-voltage device is detected as a change in the intensity of the light.</p> |
