PURPOSE:To reduce the degree of deterioration of picture quality due to irregular dot positions in two-way printing, and to materialize improvement of picture quality and printing speed by a method wherein the sum of recording pixels in printing in one way of the two-way printing is made to be different from the sum of recording pixels in printing in the other way of the two-way printing. CONSTITUTION:With a command for start of printing given, a carriage 706 makes printing in a width D over paper with multinozzles 801 in (n) numbers on a multihead 702 while moving in the direction X. As the printing is completed at the end of paper, the carriage returns to its home position and starts again on the printing in the X direction. In a two-way printing, the more the number of dots in the different scanning directions for the recording becomes great, the more irregularity becomes conspicuous. Therefore, the number of pixels in printing in one way of the two-way printing is made to be larger than the number of pixels to be recorded in the printing in the other way of the two-way printing. |
