PURPOSE: To electronically correct the optical vision of an environment, to eliminate distortion and to facilitate monitoring by digitizing video image signals, converting a part of images and generating the images by a perspective correct for the vision of a human. CONSTITUTION: A camera 12 to which a fisheye lens 11 is attached transduces optical images into electronic signals and they are digitized in an image acquiring device 13 and stored in an image buffer 14. An image processing system is composed of an X-MAP processor 16 and a Y-MAP processor 17 and performs two-dimensional conversion mapping. An image conversion processor is controlled by a microcomputer and a control interface 15 and performs the initialization of a system and conversion parameter calculation. Also, the control interface decides a desired conversion factor based on direction angle/ magnification/rotation/sensitivity input from an operation rod control means 22 and a computer input means 23, etc. The converted images are filtered in an image filter 18 and stored in an output buffer 19. The buffer 19 is scanned by a display driving device 20 and display is performed on a display monitor 21.
