PURPOSE:To perform coordinate conversion, screen output, etc., fast when a character is displayed in three-dimensional graphics by painting out the inside of its outline vector font. CONSTITUTION:The outline vector font is regarded as a polygon and divided into many triangles having vertexes at the inflection points constituting the font to generate a triangle font as shown in a figure (A). Then when a request to output one character is made, its triangle font is read out and after the coordinate conversion, etc., of respective points is performed when necessary, the insides of the respective triangles are painted out. Consequently, the character is drawn with lines having specific width as shown in a figure (B). Consequently, the character becomes easy to see and the insides of the triangles can be painted out much faster than the inside of a complicated polygon (outline vector font). |
