A twin vacuum press (10) having a prepress (12) and two evacuable repressing units (16), each of which possess an associated extruding worm (18). Between the prepress (12) and/or the conveying worm (14) of the latter and the two repressing units (16) there is provided a perforated plate (20). The two extruding worms (18) are connected to one another downstream of the perforated plate (20) by means of an evacuable chamber (30) which permits the flow of material in an unimpeded manner, which chamber (30) is bounded by the extruding worms (18), two side walls (32) which are at a distance from one another and are transverse to the extruding worms (18) and an abutment element (34) which is provided in the longitudinal direction of the extruding worms (18) on the side at a distance from the perforated plate (20). <IMAGE>
