PURPOSE: To easily constitute a virtual compensation capacitor in an IC by making the capacitor usable as the on-chip frequency compensating constitution of a switching regulator by using a negative feedback operational amplifier. CONSTITUTION: The output of an operational amplifier 22 is returned to its inverted input. When the inclination of an open loop gain is driven with a signal which operates at a frequency of -dB/decade at a terminal 24, an equivalent capacitor 20' is formed at the noninverted input of the amplifier 22. Therefore, a capacitor multiplying circuit can easily simulate a capacitor having a value of the order of several hundreds of nanofarads. This circuit becomes applicable as part of loop compensation to the amplifier of a switching regulator. |
