PURPOSE: To provide an adapter which informs the battery charger of an electric vehicle of the electrical characteristics of an outlet, so as to maximize its charging speed. CONSTITUTION: This adapter includes a connecting device which is connected electrically to a battery charger adapted for only an electric outlet with known specifications. The electric specifications are stored in a memory 32 in the adapter. A generating device 34 generates a discrimination signal, showing electrical characteristics, and a transmitting device 36 sends the discrimination signal to a battery charger 16. |
