A data processing system is specified, with a bus system with address, data, control and power supply lines, and modules connected to the bus system, including an input unit, a program memory, a working memory, a microprocessor and a display unit; the distinguishing features of the system being that - at least one holding bar, which contains the bus system and has an upper contact strip and at least one lower contact strip in its longitudinal direction, is present; - the display unit is modelled for power supply contact and signalling contact with the upper contact strip; and - the program memory is modelled as a module for power supply contact and signalling contact with one of the lower contact strips. This system can be reconfigured very easily.
