PRODUCTION OF REVERSIBLE THERMAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To obtain a reversible thermal recording medium enhanced in the resolving power of recording by bringing a coating film formed using a coating containing a matrix polymer and org. crystal particles dissolved therein in specific amts. into contact with a specific solvent-containing medium. CONSTITUTION:A coating containing a matrix polymer 2, org. crystal particles 3 and an org. solvent so that at least one of the matrix polymer and the org. crystal particles 3 is dispersed in a granular form in an amt. equal to or greater than the solubility of the org. solvent is prepared to be applied to a support such as a plastic sheet or the like to form a coating film which is, in turn, brought into contact with a solvent-containing medium dissolving at least one of the matrix polymer 2 or the org. crystal particles 3. The solvent-containing medium such as acetone or methyl acetate is pref. with respect to a coating film consisting of the matrix polymer 2 composed of a copolymer based on a vinyl chloride unit and the org. crystal polymers 3 composed of a hydrogen bondable higher aliphatic compd.
