Ceramic dielectric compositions for manufacturing multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC's) having very high dielectric constants between about 8,000-19,000 and meeting the Z5U and Y5V EIA (Electronic Industries Association) specifications for temperature coefficient of capacitance, are prepared from barium titanate host materials based upon the formulation (Ba1-xCax) (Ti1-y-zSnyZrz)O3, and doped with small amounts of niobium, manganese, lanthanum, zirconium and yttrium oxides to alter the dielectric spectrum so as to meet desired EIA specifications.
