Until now, shower trays and bathtubs have been underpinned, after installation, with hollow blocks; occasionally, the trays/tubs are also surrounded beyond the tray/tub rim, thereby additionally providing a place on which to deposit something or to sit. The underpinning or surrounding serves primarily for the fixture of tiles, resulting in a sealing unit which encloses the shower tray or bathtub and enhances the overall appearance. This activity, which is generally carried out by the tiler, represents an additional cost factor for the latter in the form of time and labour. By means of the invention, a further-processing (adhesive bonding, drilling) is possible immediately after the mounting of the screw set. In contrast to the previous method, waste and also waiting times are avoided; environmental pollution is prevented by virtue of the fact that the product consists of 100% recyclable material. The invention is usable in any installation of shower trays or bathtubs, whether large-scale project or merely a single property, by the expert or layman, thereby enabling more effective working.
