The camera (10) has a clean semi-external electric energy source. Inside the camera (10) an electrically driven region comprises an exposure-measuring circuit (26) as well as a display unit (23). A solar cell (15, 16, 17) is the electric energy source. A capacitor (28) is charged by the electric solar energy. A trigger switch (release switch) (40a, 40b) is connected to a shutter release button (18). The trigger switch (40a, 40b) connects the solar cells (15, 16, 17) to the capacitor (28) and separates the solar cell (15, 16, 17) from the capacitor (28) when the shutter release button (18) is pressed half-way. The trigger button (40a, 40b) controls a shutter when the shutter release button (18) is pressed completely. A selector switch (41) is connected to the trigger switch (40a, 40b). The selector switch (41) has a first position in which the solar cell (15, 16, 17) and an electrical region are connected while the capacitor (28) and the electrical region are separated from each other, and a second position in which the solar cell (15, 16, 17) and the electrical region are separated while the capacitor (28) and the electrical region are connected. <IMAGE>
