A road/rail vehicle with a chassis frame on which a front axle and a rear axle are rotatably mounted which are each connected at the ends fixed in terms of rotation to at least one carriageway wheel which is suitable for a carriageway, at least one of the two axles being capable of being driven by an engine and, additionally, a front rail wheel and a rear rail wheel axle, at least one of which can be driven and which are each connected at the ends fixed in terms of rotation to at least one rail wheel which is suitable for rolling in rails, are arranged on the chassis frame so as to be capable of pivoting outwards and inwards such that in the pivoted-out position the rail wheels engage with a rail and that in the pivoted-in position the carriageway wheels rest on a carriageway and there is a free space between the rail wheels and the surface of the carriageway, is to be designed in a substantially simplified and more lightweight manner while maintaining satisfactory and complete operational capability.
