An apparatus and process for continuous, cell-free, in vitro synthesis of peptides, particularly peptide-MHC complexes, is provided. The apparatus includes a novel bioreactor flow cell. The apparatus permits single parameters to be varied reproducibly and systematically, permitting optimization of translation processes. The bioreactor flow cell is characterized by a high ratio of surface area of the membrane to the volume of chamber, which permits high perfusion rates through the system with lower flux rate per membrane area. The apparatus may additionally include a novel countercurrent flow dialysis cell and other components. |
