PURPOSE: To keep the superior abrasive performace for a long period by forming a composite to be adhered to a lining from a material including abrasive particles in a binder prepared by dispersing the clay particles into an addition polymerized resin, and having a controlled rate of erosion. CONSTITUTION: This abrasive article comprises a lining selected from a polymer film, cloth, paper and fiber paper, and a composite adhered to the lining and having a controlled rate of erosion. The composite is obtained by dispersing the abrasive particles into the binder, and the binder is prepared by dispersing the clay particles into an addition polymerized resin. As the addition polymerized resin, that derived from an unhardened resin selected from an ethylene unsatruated resin and epoxy resin, is used, and the average particle size of the clay particles is within a range of about 0.01μm through about 50μm.
