PURPOSE: To provide a fiber which maintains its properties in the case of conventional washing, which is resistant to flex fatigue, which is soft, and which has high tensile strength and increased cut resistance. CONSTITUTION: As a fiber filler contg. polymer in which a substance providing cut resistance to a fiber is filled, elementary and powdery metal such as tungsten having a Mohs Hardness Value greater than about 3 is preferable. As the polymer, there may be a liq. crystalline polymer which is a complete aromat. polyester prepared from p-hydroxybenzoic acid and 6-hydroxynaphthoic acid monomers. The fiber is suitable for preparing protective furnishings such as safe globes having high cut resistance. |
