PLASTIC PIPE COUPLING

PURPOSE:To automatically shape a stopper at a pipe insertion regulation position by oppositely setting a pair of molded receiving port members, having a heating plate interposed, and fusion-joining both the edge surfaces of the receiving port member through abutment after the edge surfaces are fused by the heating plate. CONSTITUTION:When an electrical fusion type pipe coupling is manufactured, a pair of receiving port members 10 and 11 having the inside diameter permitting the insertion of a plastic pipe and each electrical heating wire 12 embedded on the inner peripheral surface side are molded by jetting the thermoplastic material into a metal mold by using an injection molding machine. Then, in each receiving port member 10, 11, circular members 31 and 32 which are made of nylon and whose edge surfaces are finished to the axially right angle are fitted, and each edge surface 15, 16 is attached on a heating plate 20. After each edge surface 15, 16 is fused by the electric conduction of the heater 21 of a heating plate 20, the edge surfaces 15 and 16 are strongly pushed each other by removing the heating plate 20, and both 10 and 11 are thermally fusion- joined. Then, the circular members 31 and 32 are pulled out, and a pipe coupling using the bead in the fusion joint, as stopper in pipe insertion, is finished.
