An evaporator (300) fed by a reservoir (301), passes water vapour to a superheater (400), then to a drying chamber (100), into which the components to be dried are loaded via an upper cap (102b). The chamber is maintained under reduced pressure by a pumping system (200). The four units are connected by pipes, valves and pressure/temp detectors linked to a programmed control system. When the drying cycle is complete, the drying chamber is brought back to ambient pressure using air or nitrogen inlet valves (412,413).
