A process for purifying waste-water containing chlorlignin involves treating the waste water with an inorganic or organic cationic flocculant. This produces a sediment containing derivative chlorinated organic lignin and flocculant. To dechlorinate the sediment, it is treated with an alkali metal polysulphide at a temperature of 50-100 °C until all the chlorine is converted to the ionic state.
|
