摘要 The magnetic levitation system comprises a guide rail with at least one section of magnetic material, above which is the object to be levitated with several electromagnets and permanent magnets for the magnetic circuit. There are several mechanisms to adjust the gap between the rail and the coils, with elastic elements between coils and the object. There are sensors to evaluate or measure the magnetic properties of each coil's magnetic circuit, which input to a control unit. The control unit gives a zero power levitation force control whereby the excitation current of at least one of the coils is reduced to zero in order to stabilise the object. This force is independent of the spring constant of the elastic elements.
