Electronic switch to release UV radiation comprises a h.v. supply and a UV radiation source, esp. an excimer beam, whose UV energy is adjustable within a required range. The bridge resonance converter (7), provided with controllable electronic switches (8), now controls the prim. circuit of a h.v. transmitter (12). The UV radiation source (3) is a single constructional element in the sec. circuit. The stray inductance (Lo-s) of the transmitter (12) is dimensioned, so that it forms a resonance circuit on one side with the capacity of the UV source (3) and permits a control region between an inductance-dependent min. and max. control freq. (fmin, fmax) of the electronic switch (8) corresp. to the reqd. region. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use with printing machines i.e. for drying colour print work. Minimal components used to provide optimum UV energy supply. The level of the intermediate circuit d.c. voltage (Uzw) is adjusted by a rectifier (4).
