<p>In a machine tool having at least one tool changer, provided for changing tools of the machine tool, the tool changer has a gripper (13), on which at least one movable jaw for positive grasping of the tools is arranged. The gripper (13) has, furthermore, an actuating member (24) which is axially displaceable in the longitudinal direction (30) and opens the at least one jaw in dependence on its axial movement for the moving the tools in and out as well as closes for positive grasping of the tools. For opening the at least one jaw, the actuating member (24) can in this case be displaced into an axially first end position by moving the gripper (13) against a fixed stop (31) of the machine tool, the actuating member (24) also being transferable into an axially second end position for closing the at least one jaw by closing means when moving the gripper (13) away from the stop (31). In the machine tool, the closing means have a coupling mechanism (60), which optionally connects the actuating member (24) to the stop (31) (Fig. 3).
