PURPOSE:To stabilize combustion and improve a driving property, by selecting feedback control or open-loop control depending on the temperature of an engine at its starting and by prohibiting the feedback control within a prescribed time after the starting. CONSTITUTION:Feedback control for maintaining the air-fuel ratio of an engine at a theoretical value or open-loop control for keeping the air-fuel ratio at a too low value or at a high value is selected. A basic fuel injection time is compensatorily increased by a warm-up increase coefficient FWL in a step P11 and a transient air-fuel compensation coefficient FTC in a step P13. Except when the feedback control for maintaining the air-fuel ratio at the theoretical value by a feedback compensation coefficient FAF determined in a step P12 is effected, the open-loop control is performed. The atomization of fuel is thus made adequate to stabilize the combustion of the engine to improve its running performance. |
