PURPOSE:To accurately detect the service life of developer by detecting resistance value or current value between a pair of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In the developing device provided with a developing machine 3 constituted of a container 5 storing the developer 4, an agitating paddle 6 agitating the developer 4 inside the container 5, a developing roller 7 which is electrified to a specified potential and attracting the developer 4 with a magnet and a photosensitive body 2 attracting toner included in the developer which is attracted to the developing roller 7 to an electrostatic latent image part formed on its surface, a pair of electrodes 8 (8a, 8b) disposed at an appropriate interval in a part where the developer 4 in the container 5 is made to flow, a power source 9 impressing voltage between the two electrodes 8a and 8b and a detection part 10 detecting the resistance value or the current value between the two electrodes 8a and 8b are provided. |
