PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst for catalytic reduction of NOx capable of efficient reduction of NOx in exhaust gas discharged from a plant, an automobile, etc., without using a large amt. of a reducing agent because NOx reacts selectively with hydrocarbon even in coexistence with oxygen, especially in coexistence with oxygen and moisture and excellent in durability even in the presence of moisture. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst for catalytic reduction of NOx consists of at least one kind of metal selected from the groups consisting of Pt, Ir, Rh and Ru and at least one kind of metal oxide selected from the group consisting of cerium oxide, lanthanum oxide, neodymium oxide, germanium oxide and gallium oxide. At the time of catalytic reduction of NOx with the catalyst, hydrocarbon is used as a reducing agent. |
