The copolymer for preventing sticking of marine creatures to ship bottom is prepd. by: ester-addition reacting the unsatd. monomer contg. one of acid anhydride gp. of formula (1), with the cpd. contg. one hydroxy gp. in aromatic or hetero ring of formula (4); then esterification reacting with the cpd. contg. one hydroxy gp. of formula (10) to make below 550 of acid value to prepare a modified unsatd. monomer; copolymerizing the resultant with one or more of the radical reactive unsatd. monomers of formula (11). In (I), R1 and R2 are H, halogen, halogen substd. phenyl, C1-20 alkyl or phenyl gp.; X1-X8 are C1-4 alkyl or alkoxy, halogen, H, nitro, mercapto, cyan, thiocyan, pheny or halogen substd. phenyl; Y and Z are H or halogen.
