PURPOSE:To constitute a device so that document data prepared by the device in a high level can be processed by a device in a low level by storing a level value for indicating in which level device the document data can be used among the document preparing devices. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reading in an updating document, first of all, a preparing device level 36, and the document level of a document designated by a user are compared and decided, and when the preparing device level 36 is above an object document level, it is decided that it can be handled in this device, and the object document is read in continuously. On the other hand, when the document level of the object document is higher than the preparing document level, it is decided that it cannot be utilized in this device and by displaying an error, read-in of the object document is cancelled. In such a manner, a level display part 58 reads out and displays the preparing device level 36 and a prepared document level from a storage part 3. Also, the level display part 58 displays a factor by which each level value is different at every level value. |
