The sliding roof for freight road vehicles consists of a pair of longitudinal bearers of supported posts along the sides of the body and serving to lead the trucks or wheels with jointed pairs of spars of articulated construction, on which cross bars are mounted, supporting the canvas, whereas the longitudinal bearers are formed as integrated profiles (1), whose guide section (7) is situated on the inner side of the support section (3). The support section exceeds the guide section and cross bars (12) by its ends protruding above the support section (3).
