摘要 The hydropneumatic system has a telescopic strut (2) made up of a cylinder (4) and a piston (6). They work in conjunction with a storage vessel (20) containing a compressible medium. By subjecting a pressure surface (A) on the piston to a hydraulic pressure (p2) generated by a pneumatic pressure (p1) at the reservoir, a load-carrying support force (F1) is produced. A counter force (F2) is produced by a mechanical spring (30) to give an adjusted support force (F). USE/ADVANTAGE - Vehicle suspension is made with simpler, cheaper parts and sealing problems are eliminated allowing the spring characteristics to be held constant.
