The system is used to move a closure plate (2), which is hinged, so as to cover an opening (3). The opening may be the outlet of a bulk hopper. Each plate is articulated about a pivot point (4) (4a) located on the main chassis. The operating system uses an actuating assembly (7) with a transmission (5) which rotates about an axis (6) to rotate the closure plate about the pivot. A manual operation control (72) and motor control (71) are included. These operate through a central control system which engages and disengages the motor control to allow free manual operation. USE - Is especially suitable for use on bulk hopper railtrucks.
