The length-adjustable stick, esp. ski or walking stick, consists of a first part (13) of smaller OD than a second part (12) in which it slides. One end of the first stick part has a thread (34') on which is an expander piece (35). A cage (39) on the first stick part restricts the movement of the expander piece away from the first stick part (13). The expander piece has a wedge shaped part. The end of the thread facing the first stick part has an annular shoulder (32). USE/ADVANTAGE - The length adjustable stick has a cage restricting the expander piece axial movement and prevents the expander piece from being lost inside the stick.
